BSP Safety Power Isolation Switch

The BSP switch provides an external means for disconnecting industrial control panels, allowing an operator to access the control panel without exposure to the line side voltage. This increases safety and allows for less Personal Protection Equipment(PPE), improving worker dexterity and mobility. The vast majority control panels installed in industrial applications expose operators to line side system voltage (i.e., 480 Vac) even when the internal main disconnect is in the OFF position. Many industrial customers are concerned with arc flash hazards and arc flash categories and are looking for ways to reduce them. The BSP includes both a visual indication of the presence of line power and a test verification port.

Test Point Features

    Permanent Electrical Safety Device (PESD) that allows workers a safer way to verify presence or absence of voltage from outside the electrical cabinet.

    Contains four test point jacks that are hardwired directly to energy sources and allows measurement of both AC and DC voltages by inserting the insulated meter probes into any two test point jacks to take a voltage reading.

    Provides a safer and more productive method of performing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), while exceeding NFPA 70E and meeting the OSHA energy isolation principle.
