Description

A local engineering company that specializes in designing and manufacturing industrial power electronics is searching for a new methodical, thorough, and results-oriented team member to assist with various electrical technician responsibilities. Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronics such as variable speed drives, boost converters, UPS systems, and other such industrial power electronics. 

Candidates for this job should have an interest in technology and manufacturing processes, as well as be personable and able to effectively communicate with others. Some training will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform final checkout testing procedure of manufactured electronic products.
  • Adjust and replace dysfunctional circuitry components using hand tools and a soldering iron.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry according to engineering instructions and manuals.
  • Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
  • Design basic circuitry and under engineerโ€™s direction create proper documentation for clarification.
  • Develop, perform, and upgrade preventative maintenance and calibration procedures for components, products, and systems.
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics.
  • Assist engineers by writing reports and recording data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications.

Requirements

Experience
  • 1 โ€“ 10 years of relevant experience and vocational schooling
  • 2+ years experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electronics
  • 1+ year of electronics training (trade school, military, or college-level)
Knowledge and Skills
  • Troubleshooting
  • Soldering and hand tools use
  • Ability to read and comprehend electric schematics
  • Computer Aided Design familiarity
  • Safety procedures for working with high current and voltage (~ 575VAC, 1200VDC, 1000A)
  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering exposure
  • Speak fluent English
  • Think critically and possess attention to detail
