The Bonitron M3452-C1600M14-R7E is a heavy-duty dynamic braking transistor designed for high-power 575–600 VAC variable frequency drive systems. Built on the M14 platform, this model provides 1600 A peak and 1200 A RMS braking capability for demanding applications with frequent deceleration or regenerative loads. When the VFD DC bus rises toward the 940 VDC braking threshold, the unit redirects excess energy to an external braking resistor, helping prevent overvoltage faults and maintain controlled stopping. This configuration uses 575–600 VAC control power, supports a 0.58-ohm minimum braking resistance, and is rated up to 2015 HP. The R7E control option adds extended hardwired I/O for additional status monitoring and system integration.
