The Bonitron M3452-U1600HT10-R7 is a 1600 A heavy-duty dynamic braking transistor built for high-power 460–480 VAC variable frequency drive systems. Designed to monitor the VFD DC bus, the M3452 activates when regenerative energy causes bus voltage to rise, routing that excess energy through an external braking resistor to help prevent overvoltage faults and shorten motor stopping times. This model supports up to 1600 A peak and 1200 A RMS braking current with a 750 VDC braking setpoint and 0.47-ohm minimum resistance. The R7 control configuration provides hardwired enable, fault reset, master/slave control, and system status outputs, making this unit well suited for large industrial drive applications requiring high-current regenerative braking and straightforward external control.
